Since its foundation in 1964, Pergola based MEP has specialized in the manufacturing of metal sawing machines, beginning with circular saws and gradually widening the range with the production of band saws on 1987.

Metal cutting is required in several kinds of manufacturing processes and therefore MEP’s customers range from mechanical workshop for the manufacture of mechanical parts and components, to metalwork manufacturers , companies operating within the building industry (cutting of beams for skyscraper, bridges, buildings,…), manufacturers of industrial plants’ machineries (cutting of pipes, flanges, …) as well as customers operating in special areas, such as the cutting of golden bars for an important Swiss watch manufacturer.

Over the years MEP’s technologies have evolved both in the mechanical sector (with regards to the raw materials used and the solution adopted) and in the electronic sector (controls). MEP has therefore been able to consolidate its leading position in Germany, France, Spain and Scandinavia.

In the 2000’s there was a breakthrough, with MEP going from “local” company to “global” competitor after the acquisition of the society by the private equity player Aksia Group SGR.

With the acquisition of HYD-MECH Group, MEP also acquired a considerable presence on the North American market, where it is currently the undisputed leader with the widest range of products available.

MEP Group currently operates manufacturing facilities in Italy, Canada, USA and China, which can meet the requirements of a wide range of customers and where about 12.000 machines are produced yearly to be sold in over 50 countries.

The products range from simple hand-operated machines to numerical-control machines, and also include semi-automatic and automatic machines, with capacity up from 0 to 1000mm.
